I met Tim of Signature Leather at the GB PRE event 2025.
My sister and I walked past the Signature Leather stand, and as soon as he saw us, he couldn’t help but ask: “You two look so much alike, am I right in guessing you have the same parents?” A surprise question out of the blue that turned into an hour-long conversation.
Tim was fascinated by the fact that both my sister and I are equine vets from Hungary, working in the UK. We spoke about the difficulties, challenges, and differences we had to face, how hard it was to get a job, to be good at it, and how it was all worth it. Today, I am the Head Veterinary Surgeon for Equestride Injury Management, a revolutionary tendon rehabilitation company, and my sister is a very smart, upcoming ambulatory vet at Wendover Park Equine Vets.
We then learned about the magic Tim creates in his glove manufacturing empire. You know someone is truly passionate about what they do when you see the sparkle in their eyes as they talk about their product. He showed us the incredibly soft leather he makes his gloves from – we had never seen anything like it.
And that’s when it happened.
One glove, quietly resting on the side, found its owner. My secret obsession with gloves came to the surface, and it was love at first sight. Tim told me he always makes one or two gloves without knowing who they’re for, but that they already have a name inside them, he just doesn’t know what the name is yet.
This one was Gloria.
With a very generous “Hungarian Special Discount,” the glove came home with me and I was more than happy to take some beautiful pictures with my sister’s favourite horse, Truffle, for Signature Leathers’ 20th anniversary.
Gloria and Antonia wish Signature Leather many more successful years of crafting beautiful gloves and delighting customers around the World.
